What is included in the BGC?
Depending on the requirements of the position, you may be subject to but not limited to the following types of background checks: criminal background check, sex offender registry check, motor vehicle record check, credit check, education verification, and employment verification.
How far back does a BGC go?
The BGC typically checks records from the past 7 years.
When do the results come out?
The time it takes to receive your BGC results can vary depending on several factors, such as the complexity of the check and how quickly the required information can be verified. Generally, results may take anywhere from 1 to 7 business days.
My BGC result isn’t ready before my start date.
If this is an issue, we will reach out to you.
What if my results are negative?
If your BGC results are negative, we will notify you about the next steps. These steps may include providing additional documentation, clarifying discrepancies, or discussing the findings with Traba’s support team.
Will a criminal record disqualify me?
Having a criminal record won't automatically disqualify you from employment. If your background check includes a criminal offense, we will conduct an individualized assessment to determine if it affects your application for the job. Traba’s internal review team evaluates each case individually, considering the details of the background check report, including any felony convictions, to ensure a fair and comprehensive decision-making process.
Is Traba felony-friendly?
Traba does not have a blanket policy for or against hiring individuals with felony convictions. Each application is reviewed individually based on the background check results.
Can a felony conviction affect my account approval?
Yes, information found during the background check, including felony convictions, can impact account approval. However, the final decision is made after a thorough review by Traba’s internal team.
Does it show arrests without convictions?
In many cases, a BGC can show arrests, even if there were no convictions. However, the details reported will depend on the nature of the background check and the jurisdiction. Arrest records are not always included in every background check, especially if no conviction followed the arrest.
I want to dispute or appeal the result.
You have the right to dispute or appeal a negative result on your BGC. Contact our support team with details and supporting documentation about the discrepancy. We will work with the background check provider to investigate the event before making a final decision. Applicants may also receive guidance on the appeal process, including what documentation is required and how to submit it. Traba ensures that all appeals are handled promptly and fairly.
