How do I complete this section?
To complete the authorized representative (rep) section for the I-9 form:
Provide the details of the person who will act as your rep
Your rep will get instructions to verify your identity and fill out their part of the form
This section is only complete after your rep has reviewed the form with you and finished their part.
1. Select an authorized rep and request them to review your I-9 documents via text or email.
2. Your rep will receive a message via text or email and should click the link to review your I-9 documents.
3. Once the review is done, go back to the “Work Status” page and submit your I-9 form.
Who can be an authorized rep?
A rep can be any person who is willing to complete and sign the I-9 form with you. They must be physically present to verify your documents. This could be a trusted friend or family member.

I want to change my rep.
If you need to change your rep:
Go to the "Authorized Rep" section
Click on “Edit Representative”
Enter the new rep’s information and submit it
Both you and your new rep will get notifications to complete the I-9 form.
I don’t want to share my location.
Sharing location is preferred because it helps with document verification, but it’s not required to submit the form. If you’re uncomfortable with sharing your location, you can skip it.
My status is in progress.
Your status is in progress if you haven’t finished your I-9 form. If your I-9 form has been completed and reviewed, but your status still says "in progress," it might be because there’s a delay or there are extra steps needed to verify your information. Please allow some time for the system to update your status.
Is the rep held legally responsible?
The rep is not legally responsible for your actions, but they are accountable for completing the I-9 form correctly. They must verify your identity and make sure that the information is accurate. It’s important to choose someone who understands the responsibility of completing the form.
