General Application Information

When you submit an application through the Traba platform, it goes into a “Pending Review” status.

Additionally, statuses such as "Application Pending" or "Application In Review" indicate that the recruitment team is evaluating your application to determine eligibility for upcoming shifts.

This means the recruitment team is still reviewing applications and deciding, with the business, when and how many workers they will need for future shifts. Please note: it is normal for applications to remain in this status for an extended period of time, as the business may not immediately confirm its hiring needs.

If your application is accepted, you may receive a congratulatory message. However, this does not mean you have been automatically added to a shift. An approved application only means you are now eligible to be considered for available shifts when the business posts them. To ensure attendance, make sure you sign up for shifts and confirm them so they appear in your calendar. If a shift is full, you can join the waitlist to be considered if a spot opens.

The recruitment team evaluates applications based on the business's specific requirements, such as skill sets, availability, and past performance. This ensures that only the most suitable candidates are considered for upcoming shifts.

To sign up for shifts, you must manually select and confirm them in the app once they become available.

  • Your obligations – You are only required to attend shifts that are confirmed and appear on your Traba calendar. If a shift is not in your calendar, you are not expected to attend.

  • How scheduling works – Once the business posts new shifts, Traba will send out invitations to eligible workers. If there are open slots available, you will receive an invitation and can choose to accept and confirm directly in the app.

  • Timeframe – There is no fixed timeline for when applications are reviewed or when new shifts are posted. This depends entirely on the business’s staffing needs and your eligibility for those roles.

  • Shift attendance rules – Shifts are not automatically recurring. Each shift listed in your calendar is a standalone assignment unless explicitly stated otherwise. Always confirm that your selected shifts are added to your calendar.

  • Multi-day shifts – If a shift description mentions a long-term or week-long assignment but your calendar only shows specific days, you are only required to attend the days listed in your calendar. For shifts spanning multiple days, check your calendar to confirm the exact dates you are scheduled.

Additionally, if you wish to work multiple shifts with the same business or role, you may need to reapply for each new schedule as they are treated as separate postings.

By following these guidelines, you can effectively manage your shifts and avoid confusion about attendance expectations. Always refer to your calendar for the most accurate and up-to-date information about your schedule.

If you notice discrepancies in your schedule, such as a shift showing different hours on different days, rely on the specific times listed (e.g., 1:00 PM–9:45 PM). Always follow the detailed shift times rather than aggregate hour totals if they conflict.

  • Reapplication rules – If you have already applied for a shift, you cannot reapply for the same one. Updates to your profile will only apply to future shifts.

  • Multiple applications – You can apply for several shifts simultaneously if they are available in the app. However, shifts that are full will not accept new applications.

  • Separate applications for shifts – Some businesses may require separate applications for each shift, even within the same department or role.

Notifications are sent with sufficient lead time, allowing you to make necessary travel arrangements before the shift begins.

In short, applying does not guarantee placement in a shift. The only shifts you need to attend are those confirmed in your Traba calendar. Invitations will be sent as soon as businesses release future openings.

Approval means you are eligible to be considered for shifts but does not guarantee automatic scheduling. You must manually sign up for shifts in the app. Selecting a single shift does not guarantee an ongoing or long-term schedule. Whether a shift becomes a fixed, long-term assignment is determined by the business. If you perform well during a shift, you may be invited to future scheduled shifts by the worksite, but this is not guaranteed and depends on the worksite’s needs.

For example, if a business posts a new schedule, even if you have worked with them before, you will need to submit a new application for that schedule.

We appreciate your patience during this process and encourage you to keep an eye on your calendar and notifications for updates on available shifts.
