Every shift is different, but here are general guidelines to help you prepare.
Always bring:
A valid government-issued photo ID
Your fully charged phone with the Traba app installed (you'll need it to clock in and out)
Comfortable, work-appropriate clothing
Water and any snacks or meals you may need — many warehouse and industrial sites don't have on-site food options
Footwear
Most shifts require closed-toe shoes. Many warehouse and industrial shifts require steel-toed boots. Check the specific shift requirements in the app before arriving — footwear requirements are listed on the shift detail page. Workers arriving without the required footwear may be turned away and will not receive compensation for the shift. If you cannot meet the footwear requirements, cancel the shift in advance to avoid penalties. Steel-toe boots must fully cover the ankle when specified, and steel-toe shoes are only acceptable if explicitly allowed in the shift details. Composite-toe boots and slip-resistant shoes are not acceptable substitutes for steel-toe boots. Steel-toe clip-ons may be acceptable if the shift only specifies "steel toes" and not "steel-toe boots," but confirm with the on-site supervisor to avoid being turned away. Boot color (e.g., black) is generally not mandated unless specified.
Clothing
Avoid loose clothing or open-toe shoes at industrial sites
Some businesses require high-visibility vests — these are usually provided on-site, but confirm in the app
Dress in layers if working in a cold storage or outdoor environment
Shift-specific requirements
Always read the full shift description in the app before your first day. Businesses can list specific equipment, certifications, or dress code requirements that are unique to their site.
