Message Your Workers

Use the Messaging Center to Communicate with your workers.

You can send messages and have a back and forth conversation with individual workers in the Messaging Center. Whether you want to check with a worker on their upcoming schedule, give them specific arrival instructions, or tell them what part of the warehouse they will be working in, you can now do so in the Traba Business Portal rather than texting.

To ensure that you are able to control your messaging experience and only having the conversations you want to have, there are a couple rules in place:

  • Business users are the only ones that can initiate a conversation. A worker will only be able to message you if you message them first.

  • Workers will have 48 hours to respond to the latest business message before the chat is ended and they can no longer message the business.

  • Business users can end the chat and stop responses at any time. If you later wish to reopen the chat, all you have to do is send another message.

How To Send A Message?

To send an individual worker a message, click on Messaging in the side bar. This will take you to your messaging screen and you can see all your active messages.

To send a new message, click the purple New Message button in the top right. Search for your worker, type your message, upload an image if applicable and click send.

Once you click send, it will take you to all your conversations. You can also navigate to here by clicking into any conversation from the main messaging center page. From here, you can click into any of the conversations and view any unread messages or send a new message. If you need to end a chat, favorite or block a worker, you can do so from the three dots in the top right.

You can also take action or bulk actions from the main Messaging Center screen. Select or multi select your desired conversations and click the three dots in the top right. From here you can either:

  • End the selected chats: Ending chats will make it so workers can no longer respond to your messages.

  • Archive the selected chats: Archiving will move the conversation out of the main messaging center and will be accessed by clicking archived chats in the top right. You never need to archive a chat but it's a tool for you to clean up your inbox and only have active conversations in the center.

You can also quickly access your messages at any time on any page in the portal. Simply click the purple messaging icon in the bottom right corner your messages will be pulled up. You can send messages from here as well.

FAQ

Will I be notified about new messages?

Currently we are not supporting email or text notifications for messages. There will be a red dot in the Messaging icon if you have unread messages. If you wish to see any other type of notifications please reach out to us at [email protected] and we can work on adding them.

Can workers message me at anytime?

Workers can only message you if you message them first. Additionally, they can only message you within 48 hours of you sending your most recent message.

Do you support group messages?

We do not currently support group messages. You can send the same message to multiple workers in one action but it will create separate chats for each worker. If you wish to send a bulk message, you can also use shift announcements to send a message to every worker on shift.

Do you content moderate?

We do attempt to do content moderation on all messages and attempt to block any messages with profanity, threats, or other harmful behavior. Workers and businesses are still responsible for any behavior and messages sent, and our operations team reserves the right to remove any users that are violating our policies.
