If you arrive late to a shift and have been turned away for any reason, then there will be no compensation for this shift. You are expected to arrive on time for your shift, and if you fail to do so, then you run the risk of being turned away without pay.
It’s important to always arrive on time for your shifts to ensure you don’t miss any important training or check-ins with your supervisors.
Definition of Lateness
On Traba, any amount of lateness is considered late. This means that even being one minute past the scheduled start time qualifies as late. It is important to plan your arrival to ensure you are on time.
Communication Protocols for Lateness
If you realize you are running late, it is crucial to notify the appropriate parties as soon as possible. Communicating your lateness can help mitigate penalties and ensure that your status is accurately recorded. If you have informed the relevant parties about your delay, you should still proceed to the worksite as quickly as possible.
We encourage workers to show up 15 minutes early to allow time to park, locate the job site, find the supervisor, etc especially if you have not been to the shift location before.
Consequences of Lateness
Penalties for Lateness: If you notify that you are running late but are rejected from the shift for lateness, you will generally be marked as "Rejected for being late," not as a "no call no show." However, you will receive a penalty point for being late.
Impact on Account Scores: Late arrivals can negatively affect your account scores, which may influence your ability to secure future shifts.
Turned Away for Lateness: If you arrive late and are turned away, this will not be recorded as a "no-show." Instead, it will be recorded as a different status, such as "rejected." A "no-show" indicates you did not attend at all, while a "rejected" status indicates you arrived but were not allowed to work the shift.
Our business partners reserve the right to turn away any workers who show up late.
