1099 Worker - Employment Verification

Written by Kyle

You are a 1099 self-employed contractor when you work through Traba. We are unable to provide you an employment verification letter as you are not an employee of Traba. We can provide an earnings statement as proof of income for requested time periods but this does not count as proof of employment and this may or may not meet your requirements. To request an earnings statement, you can:

  1. Specify the Date Range: Clearly indicate the time period you need the statement to cover, such as a specific week, month, or from your first shift to the most recent one.

  2. Contact Support or Use the App:

    • Via Support: Submit a request through Traba support, providing the required date range. The statement will be generated and sent to you as a PDF document.

    • Via the App: Open the Traba app, navigate to your profile, and select the Payments section. From there, choose "View Payments" or "Earnings Statement" to download your statement. Alternatively, go to the Earnings page and click "Get payout summary" to generate the document.

Limitations of Earnings Statements

  • No Estimated Earnings: Earnings statements are only available for completed shifts. If your hours have not been entered yet, you will need to wait until the business submits the necessary records.

  • No Business Names: Statements do not include the names of businesses you worked for; they only display payment amounts, payout times, and expected arrival dates.

  • Individual Requests Only: Earnings statements can only be requested by the individual concerned. If someone else needs a statement, they must submit their own request.

Common Use Cases

  • Proof of Income: Specify the duration (e.g., "the last month") when requesting a statement for income verification.

  • Proof of Work: Earnings statements can serve as proof of work after completing at least one shift.

  • Employer-Specific Shifts: You can request a statement for shifts worked with a specific employer by providing their name. Please submit a ticket with us through the app to request an earnings statement.
