When a business needs workers to assist them with their daily operations, they can use Traba to post shifts on the Traba app. Each time you work with Traba, you are completing a single shift with one of these business. Most shifts last the entire day, however in some cases they may be as short as 4 hours. Before signing up for shifts, ensure you have completed the necessary onboarding steps, including a background check and, for certain roles, a drug test and orientation.
Additionally, Traba offers two main types of shifts: Single-Day Shifts, which are standalone shifts requiring no long-term commitment, and Long-Term Assignments, which may span multiple days or weeks and often require full availability for the duration of the assignment. Some long-term postings allow you to select specific days, depending on the business's requirements.
Each shift only has a certain number of positions available so make sure to secure your spot if you find a specific shift you want to work. If a shift is full, you can join its waitlist to be notified if a slot becomes available. Shifts are posted on a first-come, first-served basis, so act quickly to secure your spot.
Waitlisted workers can claim an open slot if a rostered worker drops out, ensuring opportunities are not missed.
Although many shifts are posted days in advance, new shifts are being posted each day and some can start as soon as later that same day. Make sure to regularly check the Traba app for new opportunities! If no shifts are visible, it means none are currently available in your area, but businesses may post new shifts at any time. Traba also sends notifications when shifts matching your profile become available, ensuring you don’t miss opportunities. For W2 workers, shifts are assigned based on your profile and fit rather than individual applications. Notifications provide sufficient lead time to make travel arrangements.
For long-term roles, businesses determine your ongoing schedule and will add you to specific days based on their needs. If you don’t see additional shifts, it means you haven’t been scheduled for those days yet.
If your account was suspended, you can resume working once the suspension is lifted. After reactivation, you can sign up for shifts or be assigned shifts as usual.
